Hi, I’m Mishka, and I’m a 2024 National Youth Climate Activism Award recipient.
Being part of this community has helped me believe in myself even more than I did before. Having my work and activism recognized is meaningful, but what makes me happiest is seeing so many incredible changemakers brought together. It gives me faith in our future.
As an International Affairs student, I’m particularly interested in climate policy at all levels, the impacts of international environmental law, and the intersections between politics, economics, society, and sustainability.
The fight against climate change needs to be global and addressed wherever possible, and that can start with youth initiatives across the country.
For me, receiving the NYCAA made me realize that everyone can contribute differently to this fight, and it highlighted the importance—and the beauty—of having a diversity of tactics to address the climate crisis.
